  1. Just saw this video from Nick Campbell at Greyscale Gorilla. Might be some useful techniques in this to create something like that.

  2. Check the order of your hierarchy is correct, and that nothing refers to anything else in the scene until after it has been calculated. But this is really what Save Incremental is for - ALWAYS save incremental versions of files, so that when one craps out on you, you have the previous, separate file to go back to. Without reference to the file, or much clue what the setups are, or without knowing even which version you are working in it is difficult to advise specifically ! But there is no function I am aware of that will repair a broken or corrupted save file. CBR

  3. Really ?! 🙂 That would be the case if this was an organic mesh and we could play with the weighting of loops to get 'knee bend' type arrangements such as Delta Mush is so good at facilitating, but when its fixed diameter tubing, and the angles can't change - well you can't change physics ! That size of tube cannot go round that angle, rotating from that point, without something non-uniform going on inside the tube, which is why we need that photo to show us what it actually does ! I would be delighted to be proved wrong if you if feel like teaching an old dog new tricks 😉 CBR

  4. FFD is wrong tool for this, and model is not suitable for deformation yet due to uneven segments. You need even, regular segments, and then you can just use soft selection to make a nice easy dip in the chair. I notice also the fabric doesn't have any physical thickness, which it will need in order to look realistic. Here is the sort of segmentation you need in the base mesh. Also don't forget the control loops that stop the corners collapsing under SDS. Once the segments are even, just turn on soft selection, choose Dome mode, adjust the radius as shown and use the move tool to add art directed unevenness to the chair seat. CBR
