  1. More than just a service pack, we got a few very cool things added this time round... New Relax Mode in Brush and Magnet tools Cloth and Rope now work with Fields / Field Forces Front and Back Colliders for new sim system New HDRIs New RS materials New grunge maps collection Improved Node editor Geometry Curvature now available to fields. Volume builder improvements My favourite is the new relax mode of Brush and Magnet tools allowing us to smooth, and regularize topology without losing surface curvature. Here's Chris Schmidt explaining the rest of it, with his usual degree of thoroughness and detail... So, lots to enjoy there, as well as lots of bugfixes and smaller QoL changes. CBR

  2. try making a new group window, then place the node editor inside that, and the material editor also, then dock that group window and save the layout. I also have an attribute manager (set to show only nodes) inside that group window so when you click on a node it's properties are in the AM.

  3. Yes I have done largely the same thing, and no regrets so far. I find the new RS Standard material very easy to work with, and even though Octane is more stable with S26 than it was with the 3 versions before that, and I don't find RS quite as 'rock solid' as its reputation would seem to suggest, it is certainly very usable, there aren't many crashes and its integration with Cinema gets better with every version. Previously I have much preferred the look and functionality of Octanes nodes, but now that Cinemas nodes are so much better that is no longer the case... CBR

  4. First steps with Mid journey AI. All generated by the algorithm, no post work by me - straight from the computer. Super fun.

  5. I have Cinema 4D v4 and up running on Windows. The application itself is only seldom a problem, the installer are more critical. So if anyone wants to archive a Cinema version for possible future use, take a production version that you have installed with all plugins and zip it.

  7. New information in today's Rocket Lasso ! I believe these are the droids you are looking for... at least in S26. So if you untick that double clicking will get you your shader graph... CBR

  8. I have been using C4D since R9.5 I believe. I have alot of old files. I dont have R9.5 or 11.5 or R19 When I try and open one of these old files in R21-26. I get an error. "its too old and cannot be read it was created with Cinema 4D R11.5 or older you can still convert it with any Cinema 4D version up to R19" BTW I dont have the old software anymore, it was owned by a previous employer When I login to Maxon One. I cant download any older version than R21 why did Maxon remove any ability to use C4D files in c4D? makes no sense i realize something might be issues when converting an old file.but should still be able to open. @DMcGavranplease restore some functionality to use old files.

  9. Simulation for those was a couple of minutes or less. It caches the simulations. You can cache in multiple ways, either internally in the same file, or externally to individual c4d files or individual openvdb files. And at all times you can play back in real-time in the viewport. Edit: Just did the chocolate one now and it took 109 seconds on a 10Core i7.

  11. Since that last release, Corona has the Slicer material. After using it for a few months, I don't think I could go back to using a renderer without it ever again. The video below is a bit prosaic. But I find a lot of uother uses for it. (Capping liquid at varying angles. Bites out of food etc.

  12. Corona v08 included access to Chaos Cosmos which is a pretty nice set of assets that you can load into your scene with one click. I imagine this is the bigger goal of the Maxon asset browser, but the Chaos ones are such better quality. Here's a few close up tests of some accessories.

  13. Reshoot of this old model which was how this sketchbook started. Base modeled in Vectorworks and detailed in Cinema.
