  2. The back wall is completed. Note the blast doors toward the right of the rear wall....they are rigged to open as they do in the movie with an inner and an outer set of doors that close with a slight offset (inner closes first and outer about 20% later). There is really no guidance on what the back of a hanger bay looks like as all those shots were at ground level or from very far away as exterior shots of the Death Star mid-trench. So...dramatic license was taken. Dave

  3. I was just curios and I saw a few video from the pwnisher, those things are uninteresting basic crap and the fact that have tons of views only demonstrate that human race is becoming dumber at an impressive rate, when we start to judge somebody by the number of Youtube likes, there's something very wrong with the masses, that's for sure. Maybe I'm too old but if we talk about rockstar I still think about Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin etc, most of those guys are just Youtubers that will be forgotten as fast as they have reached notoriety. Sorry but I'm not impressed at all:)

  4. Modelling is my main thing, so you'd think I would use Max, who's modelling toolset was once thought of as unrivalled. And indeed I started there. And yet I note that I use Cinema now and would not go back, for a multitude of reasons... I suspect you will find many, many more things that annoy you in Max than do in Cinema, if you move there. The grass may 'look' greener on the other side, and it is, as far as mtls are concerned, but you may find you don't like the taste of the rest of it 😉 'Try before buy' would be my advice, not that you can ever properly 'own' that software of course... 5. I wouldn't use 3DS Max and "enjoy" in the same sentence. The software is a mess.

  6. Yeah no guarantees if he's able to help or not though haha. If I don't hear back from him within the next few days, it might be worth hitting him up! No need to send beer money... just happy to help 😃.

  7. Has been a while since I knocked out a chess set, and, in the same way that it's good to watch Lord of the Rings again every so often, did one over the weekend... Here's the most interesting 3 models.... bishop was retopo job, which produced much nicer topology and lump-free SDS surfacing than merely trying to clear up after a boolean... Still don't like the mane on the little horsey guy, but haven't done any sculpting on this yet, which may yet tie it all together nicely... ...and if we want nice sharp corners on our Rook crennellations and must maintain perfect rounding radially we need many more segments than we'd first think so that we can achieve this with poly density rather than control loops ! I feel I should render them 200 ft tall in some ancient roman coliseum or somthing 🙂 Anyway, great fun to model, as these things always are ! CBR
