  1. So you're curious enough to stir the pot (again) even though you've talked ad nauseum in multiple threads how you've moved on from C4D and just *love* Blender, while bashing Maxon for being Adobe shills and their subscription policies. But you're curious... and yet not curious enough to download a demo.. but still curious... this is very curious indeed. BTW, your answers you seek are found in the previous threads where you brought up your old version of R20, the lack of updates YOU found appealing enough to purchase, and ultimately how bad subscriptions are. I'm surprised you don't remember all of these previous conversations. It's a joy to revisit them again, from a philosophical and curious mindset of course!!!! 🙂

  2. I personally can see the benefit of threads like this. I'm a long time C4D user (back to R9 or so if memory serves) but I got stuck on R20 myself for a long time for a whole variety of reasons (old jobs kept getting revisited, updated jobs needed the same rendering style, etc). That, and the hardware fact that my old mid-2010 Mac Pro couldn't even upgrade C4D (or X-Particles) because of the missing AVX chipset meant I stayed in R20 land well past what I would have liked. Now, I have a shiny new M1 Max MacBook Pro and can install all the latest apps and plug-ins and I'm very curious as to what I've been missing. I tried to read up on new features as they came out but it was hard without the ability to play. I know I've "missed" many that I won't remember were added (or that I could use) unless I go back and watch all those "What's new in RXX" videos… which I am trying to do in my "free time" (thanks Chris Schmidt et al). So, reading about "this feature that some won't care about but is huge to me" is really informative. Thanks for all the input!

  3. They're not mutually exclusive. Of course I can't say whats going to be in the software, but I am impressed by what they've put together. I'd be giving it a solid 9/10. To clear up any confusion, My name is Matthew, in real life my nickname is Mash. My online username is almost always imashination and I cofounded 3D Fluff.

  5. More interested when they'll push into the Node Editor with XP. I'm assuming more has to be done by Maxon to allow more data to flow into the Node Editor and make it more stable. That will push it more towards Houdini and Bifrost with node-based FX... sorry Blender enthusiasts.

  6. Don't use UV mapping in the material tag - set that to flat, and then use texture mode to align the gradient as you want... CBR

  7. With Fused, they have started a confusing mix of perpetual and subscription licenses. They should communicate extra clear and unambiguous down the road what's included and what not. The way it is now, it's more like ConFused 😄

  8. Either way, I tend to think of Maxon Releases the same way I feel about the Star Trek movies. The even numbered movies were always better than the odd numbered movies. I wonder if that is why they made the even numbered releases for subscribers only? Dave
