No one would use their fingers to use Forger (or at least they wouldn't use it successfully). Forger (and Nomad Sculpt, the other major iPad sculpting app) work best with the Apple pencil, so that you have pressure sensitive sculpting. This is no different than using ZBrush with a Cintiq: a directly interactive sculpting process for (especially) organic models (e.g. character and creature designs). The disadvantage of using an iPad for this is that Forger and nomad don't come with the full feature set of something like ZBrush. But there is also a huge advantage: comfortable, mobile , performant sculpting on a tablet with a long battery life and which doesn't get hot. The work can always be elaborated/refined on a computer later. It depends upon your needs whether this makes it useful for you.

Just as a side note in case anybody didn't know. An older EmberGenFX 0.5.6 is free for Octane users as well as World Creator. Downloadable from otoy.com. I have Octane, but I haven't tried the freebies out yet.

Remember, many pros might be using iPad Pro or similar device with a pencil-like stylus. Can't imaging many people are using their fingers most of the time.

I tripped over a Black Friday deal at Lenovo at through their "Perks at Work" program. These programs are available though most US employers, insurance programs, and/or car associations like AAA. This program was not advertised nor were any notifications sent that it was going on. I just went to the site on a lark in the final 4 hours before it expired. It expired at midnight last night.
