  1. Good old times. My first contact with 3D was 1998. First Bryce 2. Cinema 4D since release 8. I also joined the C4DCafe in the 3DKiwi times. Now I'm 42 and I stopped to count, 42 is the answer to everything so I will stay 42 😄

  2. Lols. Good old Bryce hey ? Absolutely atrocious by today's standards but at the time it was such a cool thing to play with, and I still miss that landscape editor sometimes 🙂 CBR

  3. Hi, my name is Salvatore Coco. I was a member of C4DCafe from the beggining (3DKiwi Days) I lost the focus to the Forum for a very very long time. I tryed to join last year and something didn't work. I try it today again and o it works. I'm happy to be back in the C4DCafe. Some words about me. Since 3 years I work as a Senior 3D Artist at Raumgleiter in Switzerland. In the Office we work with 3DSMax. I also used Max for some time at home and lost the focus a bit from Cinema 4D. But now I'm back to Cinema 4D again at home. Today I use Cinema 4D and Redshift as bundle and it is great to come back to Cinema 4D. It was like a coming home. I'm looking forward to be again a part of the C4DCafe Best Salvatore

  4. also make sure you subscribe to rodrigo's youtube channel, he has some good content there on rigging and will continue to make more if enough people show interest. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCev3FBg3BppCtlyCUtgtdSw

  6. while i agree that there's not enough c4d specific rigging tutorials out there, keep in mind that the principles are the very same across all apps. so if you got the basics down and know how our constraints work, if you know the caveats of our ik and ik spline solvers, if you somewhat understood priorities, if you know the basics of xpresso, you can really watch any maya or blender or even houdini rigging tutorial and translate the technique over to c4d. i might do a tutorial about spline ik soon, since i have the feeling this is something a lot of people struggle with, i know i did for quite some time... would that be something you're interested in?

  7. Oh my... I'm almost 40 and living some middle-age crisis at this very moment. This thread is very triggering haha. I dont remember exactly when I joined the C4D Cafe the first time, probably around 2008... I was living in Ireland at the time, and when I was a bit lost with some rigging (even back then) I remember seeing some tutorials from Cactus Dan ❤️ if I'm not mistaken he even replied to a question I've had. There was also a very cool tutorial from him, a mech or a giant head with two feet. I think this was my very first rigging exercise. I started using C4D after a friend of mine persuaded me so much - I was using 3ds max at the time - and it was just...mind blowing, how welcoming the interface was! And still is 🙂

  8. Lols 🙂 Cerbera already has a Youtube channel, but it's only got my music and drone stuff on it so far... Thanks for the confidence vote - I do wonder sometimes if I should try and find some time for some 4D vids as well. It's a good guess Sir Wolf 🙂 Between client work, private tuition, cafe and writing the musics (my other big passion) I don't tend to get the massive amounts of time required to put decent quality vids together. I have, in the recent past planned a project-based video tut series, but the time has eluded me so far. But also, people like yourself, and Hrvoje, Noseman, Chris Schmidt, EJ and Arrimus, Nicko Schatz and a select few others have done such a good job, that I simply don't think I could do better, and between them they have already covered pretty much every topological quandary I would ever want to do myself ! Indeed, I watch Wolf's and the other guys' videos for the sheer relaxment and the reward of watching someone doing something so well, and explaining it so eloquently and thoughtfully ! But nice to know you guys would watch if I did, so cheers ! CBR

  9. Igor...you beat me to it. I was going to update my list with Wolf3D tutorials. I did not include Contrafibbularities tutorials initially as they were already part of the tutorial set listed at the Cafe. It wasn't until I opened up a few and clicked on the "View on YouTube" link that I realized he was also Wolf 3D (which....I have to admit....is much easier to type). So I actually was going to update my list today with a link to Wolf3D on YouTube but you beat me to it. I love his modeling techniques and thought process as he works though some of his more involved tutorials on sci-fi type subjects - in particular replicating the work of Vitaly Bulgarov in C4D with perfect quads! Sci-fi is my favorite 3D subject so his tutorials are a "must see" for me. I strongly recommend everyone follow him (as well as everyone else on my list) on YouTube as there is something for everyone. I do have to admit something: As you can now stream YouTube to your TV, I do sometimes just watch tutorials without following them in C4D as a means of relaxing at night after my day. Better than watching the mind numbing on broadcast or cable TV. I find that helps me absorb the technique and approach without worrying about the commands or key strokes...which is more important, especially if you have some proficiency with C4D's tools. Is that too geeky? So the next big questions is this: Will Cerbera ever have a YouTube channel? Imagine what we could learn! Dave
