  1. To wrap this up: Dave was extremely kind to sort this out for me and confirmed that I am entitled to a R23 license! It will be arranged this week! Thanks again and case closed!! Olav

  2. COFFEE had its time, but that time is over. For general scripting Python is the weapon of choice, which we just now updated to industry standard version 3. Regarding the object manager, no one from MAXON ever proposed to remove it. For the new system it just isn’t there yet. what exact scripting options we get for the new system remains to be seen, and implemented. No need.to worry here, since the new system is the base for everything we will make sure to get it right.

  3. The old and new can never merge, that would mean that the new system would have to compromise for all the problems of the old one, thereby loosing its main advantages. What will happen is that over time the new system will become ever more complete and allows the user to use the new system for ever more tasks, until at some point the old system is only really needed and used for compatibility reasons. At this point in time the new system is not ready for the big stage, it is a tech demo.

  4. This is another homework for the School of Motion course. Ran short of time to get it into them so will need to come back to it in future. Ran into so many problems with it which is a good thing as worked some of them out. Some weird stuff going on with light bleeds where the compositing tag was hiding some lights from camera but not others. Originally intended for closer to 1 minute runtime but the render would've taken an age to get in so made some adjustments to shorten which knocked some stuff out of sync. Look forward to come back to this one when I've some more knowledge on the cameras and post-prod workflows.
